**A**fghan Interpreter - Inside IR35**

**Contract Term: 3-12 Months**

**The main duties and responsibilities of the A**fghan interpreter** would be**:

- Providing accurate and timely translations of Afghan documents
- Demonstrating fluency and expertise in Dari and / or Pashto
- Possessing a deep understanding and appreciation of cultural nuances to ensure the accurate transmission of meanings during translation
- If and when, required, actively listen and comprehend the speaker's message, conveying the intended meaning faithfully while maintaining impartiality and professionalism
- Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity, safeguarding sensitive information encountered during interpretation assignments
- If required, effectively take notes during interpretation to assist in conveying complex or lengthy information accurately
- Collaborating with other interpreters and language professionals to share insights, improve skills, and enhance overall service quality
- Engaging in ongoing training and professional development to stay update with language trends, best practices, and relevant technology

**You’ll have**:

- Fluency in Dari and / or Pashto, demonstrated through formal education or professional experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to remain composed under pressure and adapt to various speaking styles
- Deep understanding of cultural differences and sensitivities, with a strong commitment to promoting cross-cultural understanding.

**Desirable**:

- Proven experience in interpretation services
- Familiarity with Microsoft platforms
- A track record of punctuality and dependability

**SC Clearance is a desirable requirement for the roles; as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.**
