Location: Newbury, Berks.
Maternity contract (until 31st May 2023 at least).
Hourly pay rate: £12.60.
This position will provide temp admin support to a Town Council.
Key responsibilities:
- Booking of rooms
- Promotion and administration of weddings
- Maintain the visitor /public information in the Library and Town Hall lobby
- Arrange the display of Council information and newsletters in the Council's notice boards
- Support Officers in publishing the Council's Monthly Newsletter
- Support the Civic Manager in arranging and providing administrative support for Civic Events, when requested.
- Support the Civic Manager at Committee meetings or Working Groups, when requested
- Manage the Council's Team Calendar on Microsoft Outlook.
- Support the arrangement of staff social events when required.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Council's officers and suppliers/ providers for the following:
- Maintain a log of internal IT issues, including laptops and devices
- Replenishing office equipment, stationary when required and maintaining office supplies.
- Printers
- Card Machine
Please note, on occasion there may be a requirement to attend evening meetings (which may include taking minutes) or weekend events.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Educated to GCSE including English & Maths C grade or equivalent
- Able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, and the standard use of office equipment
- Experience of working in an administrative role
- Experience of dealing with members of the public
- Event Coordination Experience (desirable but not essential)
- Experience of event bookings processes
- Understanding of meetings and event management needs
- Knowledge of event marketing (desirable but not essential)
