An opportunity has arisen at the **Barnard Medical Group **for two **Part-time Receptionists, **to work the following shifts:
Monday 2pm - 6pm, Tuesday 8am - 2pm, Wednesday 2pm - 6pm & Friday 8am - 2pm (20 hrs)

and

Wednesday 8am - 2pm, Thursday 8am - 2pm & Friday 2pm - 6pm (16 hrs)

The post holder will receive, assist and signpost patients in accessing appropriate services in a courteous, efficient and effective manner.

The successful post holder will possess excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic and committed to delivering the highest standard of patient care and be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment.

We are a dynamic, ever evolving Practice with 3 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, 6 Practice Nurses, in-house Pharmacists, Mental Health Practitioner, Social Prescriber, Dietician, Physiotherapist, in addition to a large reception and administrative team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- To welcome all patients on arrival to the surgery ensuring patients are checked in.
- Process in person and telephone requests for face to face appointments, telephone consultations and visits.
- To deal with all enquires in an effective and timely manner.
- Process messages from patients, clinicians and external bodies, taking appropriate action when required.
- Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients, those seeking temporary registration and requiring immediate and necessary treatment.
- Collate relevant documentation to support new patient registration.
- Inform prospective patients of the Practice boundary.
- Where necessary act as a chaperone during clinical examinations.
- Action all workflow requests as requested by clinicians.
- Invite patients to make appointments at clinician's request.
- Enter/amend patient information onto computer system as required.
- To work in accordance of Practice Protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Make effective use of training to update skills and knowledge base.
- Support the equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues.
- Respect the privacy, dignity and beliefs of patients,m carers and colleagues.
