**BASED IN THE NEWCASTLE OFFICE (with national travel as required)**

**The normal hours of work are 9.00am until 5.30pm (but flexible by arrangement)**

AspinallVerdi is a specialist practice of Chartered Surveyors and Town Planners providing integrated property development, regeneration and town planning services to regional and national clients across both the public and private sectors. We enable our clients to bring forward and deliver their projects.

Our Leeds office was established as the headquarters for the business in 2009, which has grown to five offices and one of the country’s leading independent development consultancy practice. Our Newcastle office was established in June 2021 and has grown successfully since then winning and delivering on a range of projects in the North East and supporting the wider business. The Newcastle and Leeds offices link closely together and will work collaboratively to manage the flow of projects across both sites.

Our services include: development appraisal and financial modelling; S106 planning viability negotiations; planning policy/CIL viability; heritage buildings viability; feasibility studies; grants and public sector funding; master-planning; development procurement and delivery; site assembly and disposal; planning and development; regeneration; property market analysis etc.

Examples of our current workload and clients include: Homes England Property Framework development consultancy; Gateshead Council Future Place 2 Delivery Strategy; St Cuthbert’s Garden Community and Citadels Development Consultancy, Carlisle; Greater Cambridge Local Plan Viability Assessment; Hartlepool Industrial & Office Workspace Strategy; Darlington Office Workspace Strategy; Barnsley SEAM; a range of Financial Viability Assessments across the north; and numerous other bespoke pieces of work.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

Skills including project management and the ability to develop networks of contacts are also a requirement. You must be able to prioritise workload and work under pressure - and ‘go the extra mile’ when the role demands.

Your core responsibilities will include:

- Providing development consultancy advice in the context of viability appraisals property market assessments, master-planning and funding projects,
- Undertaking options assessments to identify optimal outcomes and contributing to business cases for public sector funding
- Undertaking soft market testing including consultations with agents and developers via telephone
- Attending site inspection, project meetings and networking events
- Providing valuation advice and reports - working with Registered Valuers
- Assisting with transactional activities
- Preparing fee proposals and tender submissions
- Undertake Project Management and Client liaison roles on a day to day
- Preparing effective reports
- Attending/Presenting at Client Meetings
- Assisting with networking and marketing activities, including building your own network (internally and externally)
- Supporting the Directors with business generation, including writing tenders.
- Supporting the Directors with any other tasks reasonably required.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience required**

Experience in a property environment is required, ideally within development consultancy.

We anticipate that you will have:

- be a Chartered Surveyor with (or working towards) MRICS qualification
- a 1st or 2:1 Undergraduate degree in a cognate course (e.g. Planning & Development / Real Estate) or a cognate Masters degree (MSc)
- be an experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- be experienced in Argus Developer
- have the ability to organise and prioritise - excellent time management skills
- have a professional manner with good communication skills and able to speak to a broad range of other professionals
- strong report writing with the ability to articulate arguments and findings
- have Project Management skills for multi-disciplinary team working
- have an enquiring mind with attention to detail
- have the ability to work well under pressure - good team skills including ability to support and mentor junior members of the team
- the ability to use your own initiative
- be able to think methodically and be highly numerate
- good team skills and willing to engage with colleagues and clients
- full driving licence and willingness to travel to locations across the UK
