**Welding Inspector**
**Job Purpose**:Define and follow up on site material, welding, non-destructive testing (NDT) and coating activities.
**Roles and responsibilities**:
- Assist the tendering team with all welding, NDT and coating related matters
- Be the Client’s technical contact in case of clarification,
- Analyse and clarify subcontractor/supplier’s technical offers,
- Select welding processes, NDT methods and welding consumables for the project,
- Perform welding consumable quantities estimates.
- Provide the tendering manager with information regarding welding, NDT, coating methods.
- Assist the project team to prepare welding, NDT and coating activities (issue of welding specifications, materials, welding fillers, NDT requirement ),
- Assist with selection and management of welding / NDT / coating subcontractor,
- Control the welding related documents produced by vendors/subcontractors: Welding Procedure Specification, Welding Procedure Qualification Records, welding books, base materials and consumables specifications, heat treatment procedures, NDT procedures
- Clarify all material/welding/NDT/coating technical issues with Client (through Requests for Information, Technical Deviations, Queries, technical meetings ).
- Solve technical problems related to welding and attend the start of welding, NDT, coating (painting, PFP) operations,
- Participate to technical audits of vendors and subcontractors,
- Ensure through technical audits that the works are performed in accordance with contract, project specifications, codes and good practice,
- Provide technical support for material reception of plates, forged items, pipeswith the QA/QC manager for the procurement/inspection department,
- Ensure procedures are developed according to the Contract,
- Propose welding related improvements (design, methods, construction ), R&D,
- Supervise and involve the personnel in order to reach Company/project HSE goals,
- Follow-up on welding/quality control activities with the QA/QC manager
**Experience**:
- Welding processes,
- NDT methods,
- Metallurgy (high strength carbon steel, nickel alloys, aluminium alloys, austenitic stainless steel),
- Knowledge of construction codes and standards
- Engineering degree (materials, mechanical ) with International Welding Engineering (IWE) degree.
- An experience of 3 to 8 years on a similar position working on projects.
- Knowledge of Oil&Gas industry
- Knowledge of construction codes related to the activity
- International qualification in NDT
**Salary**: £325.00-£350.00 per day
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Kent: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
