Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide treatment for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.

**The Role**

This is a great time to join GamCare as we’re recruiting a Head of Media and Campaigns, who will be responsible for leading GamCare’s proactive and reactive Media and Campaigns activities that will protect and enhance the reputation of the organisation at a local, regional, and national level.

The Head of Media Campaigns will be a vital role for GamCare, leading a function that will position us as the go-to organisation regarding help and support for gambling harm in the media, and using this positive position to advocate for those with lived experience as well as the help and support we offer. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play an essential role in the development and delivery of GamCare’s strategy and business plan, working collaboratively with other SLT members.

**About You**

You will have experience of setting and delivering strategic priorities with the buy-in of senior internal and external stakeholders. You will have successfully managed a team by supporting and motivating staff, setting and reviewing objectives and supporting personal development. You will have demonstrable experience of delivering high profile media relations and advising senior staff on lines to take for the media.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and develop and embed a Media and Campaigns team, creating a center of excellence for GamCare’s relationship with the media.
- Guide GamCare’s media and public perception and also that of the National Gambling Treatment Service of which we are a part.
- Create and deliver a measurable approach to media relations through the delivery of a strategy and measurable plan, that enhances Gamcare’s profile and reputation as a trusted expert.
- Actively support our wider strategic priorities and organisational development.
- Represent GamCare at external meetings and engagement events and identify partnership opportunities to develop our media relations activities.
- Identify opportunities for GamCare and the National Gambling Treatment Service to build positive media relations with both national and regional organisations.
