Histology Scientist

Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Histology Scientist to join our service providing scientific support for their customer in Translational Pathology Laboratories, based in Cambridge, UK. The Translational Pathology Laboratories support biomarkeridentification and analysis for multiple drug projects from very early stage through to Phase I and II clinical trials.

This role is lab-based carrying out histopathology techniques such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridisation (ISH) and digital slide scanning in order to carry out biomarker analysis on clinical trial tumour tissues. The assays will be run onautomated staining platforms such as the Ventana Benchmarks and Leica Bonds.

The scientist will need to be highly organised and diligent in order to ensure Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed whilst carrying out their lab work. Maintaining our compliance to the Human TissueAuthority (HTA) is essential.

**Experience Required**:

- Experience with manual and/or automated immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF) or in situ hybridisation (ISH) assays.
- Experienced in microscopy and/or digital slide scanning, particularly examination of human pathology samples.
- Experience working with human tissue samples and tissue-based histopathology methods.
- Knowledge of GCP regulations, processes, operations and compliance.
- Knowledge of the regulations and practices relating to the ethical use of human tissue samples
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Familiarity with and commitment to safe laboratory practices.
