**Catering Assistant**

**What is the role?**

As a Part-time Catering Assistant in the canteen, you would assist in preparing and serving meals for all Westcoast employees, as well as keeping the counter and sitting area tidy and organised. The role reports to a Catering Supervisor and would require the individual to have excellent customer service skills to provide the best possible service.

**If you join us, this is what your day to day will look like**:

- Assisting with basic food and beverage preparation activities, including heating, cooking, washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and making hot and cold drinks.
- Cleaning and sanitising all tables in the canteen area
- Loading and unloading food, tableware, and catering supplies on and off catering vehicles
- Ensuring there is no shortage of supplies by managing orders and inventory
- Taking card payments for all employee’s purchases, including food and beverages.
- Ensuring food health and safety standards are met.
- Receiving and checking all ordered supplies against suppliers' invoices/delivery dockets.
- Complete any required food hygiene and other required qualifications or certifications.

To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience, and the desire to develop in other areas:

- Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety certificate would be beneficial
- Preparations of various types of cookery
- Application of food health and safety regulations
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Effective organisational skills
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination to prepare food properly

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
