To be responsible for the day-to-day functionality of the organisation’s IT systems, undertaking a wide range of IT systems management duties

Duties can include but are not limited to, leading the running of patient searches and requested reporting data, administration of databases, user accounts, housekeeping, upgrades and general queries. In addition, the post holder will be required to provide support to the multidisciplinary team, maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure, provide support to the team, ensure all issues are resolved or escalated in a timely manner and provide local training as necessary.

The following are the core responsibilities of the IT Officer. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

- The provision of a local support service to all staff, resolving issues with IT systems and equipment
- The provision of a local support service to all staff, resolving issues with IT systems and equipment.
- Perform regular system checks to maximise performance
- Provide training to all staff as required, ensuring the effective use of all systems
- Build, generate and carry out searches as required by the organisation team to enable reports to be produced and action plans devised
- Support the team in the effective use of searches, audits and recalls
- Support the team in the use of the clinical systems
- Act as a liaison between the organisation and external agencies, for the timely management of all faults
- Ensure the organisation website is current and reflects the objectives of the organisation
- Configure searches and interpret data for audit purposes
- Send out mail merges for a number of campaigns, i.e., flu
- Ensure all staff have the appropriate smart card access to the clinical system
- Support the Business Manager with all elements of the online patient access software
- Ensure the Business Manager is updated regarding the release of patches and upgrades

MS Server and Desktop operating systems, Windows.

Experience of working in a healthcare setting
