Night Porter

Our hotel is looking for a Full Time Permanent Night Porter. You will be working a minimum of 32 hours from Monday to Sunday.

As a Night Porter you will be responsible for being the first point of contact the guest has with the hotel, so it is essential to create a great impression. Professional, polite, knowledgeable, self-motivated, and helpful, the Night Porter is always available with a positive attitude and happy to assist the guest with anything they might need. Multi-tasking and functioning under pressure are part of the Night Porter’s routine. The Night Porter will often be the only person in the hotel, and as such must be comfortable working on his/her own.

**Where?**

This position is based at _The Perle Oban Hotel & Spa, _in _Oban_. Perle Oban is a luxury hotel & spa located in the center of Oban that boasts beautiful views over the harbour. With Oban train station and Oban ferry terminal a stone’s throw away, it is the ideal base for exploring Scotland’s islands and highlands. This historical building built in 1882 is the perfect combination of Victorian charm and modern inspired style.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Able to serve in house guests with a simple bar service when required
- Make sure kitchen and all public areas including restaurant and bar, public toilets, reception, and lounge are clean and tidy always.
- Prepare the restaurant and the kitchen for the breakfast service.
- Keep a detailed account of any occurrence during the shift, such as issues with guests, maintenance problems or any disturbance.
- Know the hotel’s facilities and the area.
- Be completely knowledgeable of all reception procedures, such as check in, check out, bookings, general enquiries, cash handling and processing payments, etc.
- Learn to deal with complaints, always act promptly to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Learn about the Perle Hotels and direct guests to the sister hotels in the different locations.
- Have complete understanding of the Fire safety and evacuation procedures.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
