## The British Red Cross arrange and support many events across the country and virtually which require the help of volunteers. Could you help play an important role in making people feel valued when supporting the British Red Cross? Use your voice and energy to support at amazing events. We look forward to meeting you > **This role is for London Marathon PostRace Reception Volunteer. This is a one-day event 21/4/24 from 11am to 6pm.** > **We are looking for volunteers to join us at our post race reception in a 5 star London Hotel where we will be welcoming runners for refreshments, a shower and a massage once they have finished. We need support ensuring the smooth running of the event including greeting runners, supporting the photographer, managing the shower and massage rota etc.** > Please note that selected events will be available to over 18's only. > **Diversity Statement** Diversity is something we celebrate. As part of creating an inclusive space we have an expenses policy that prioritises volunteers not being out of pocket for expenses linked to your role. If up front costs are difficult, you can speak to your volunteering manager about this to find alternatives. We welcome refugees, asylum seekers and others currently in the UK to volunteer with us. We want volunteering to be accessible to everyone. > **Health and Safety Statement** We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment and will also have a conversation with you to discuss and identify any adjustments you may need.
Why we want you: Across the UK we host lots of different events which requires the help of our volunteers. There are lots of ways to get involved, from selling raffle tickets at a Christmas market, signing in hikers on their way up Snowdon, or cheering on amazing runners at the London Marathon. By joining events which suit you, you can give Red Cross supporters a special experience.- Tasks: Exact activities will vary according to the type of event you are supporting, but can include:

- Supporting event participants - cheering and encouraging people on route or welcoming them at post-race events
- Providing refreshments
- Selling raffle tickets
- Signing people into their events
- Active promotion of the British Red Cross and what we do- Skills: Enthusiasm and energy
- Desire to give our supporters a unique and fun experience
- An interest in the event- Benefits: Gain experience and confidence in interacting with the public
- Be involved in a fantastic event
- Be the power of kindness in your community
