The role holder will be responsible for all aspects of strategic engagement in designated places and sectors in Northern Ireland - managing relationships, gathering insight and organising visits/events.

Policymakers within DfT and across government benefit from our ‘on the ground’ insight, expanding their knowledge base for future planning. By building capability internally and growing our network of partner contacts, we can maximise opportunities to enhance connectivity and deliver improved transport outcomes in every part of the UK.

We are a friendly and collaborative team, with an emphasis on inclusion and diversity. As our work relates to the Union, we have strong links with the territorial offices, Cabinet Office, HM Treasury and Number 10.

- Representing DfT at local, regional and national events.
- Developing an extensive and useful network across Northern Ireland, including with the Northern Ireland Executive, local authorities, transport representatives and a range of other stakeholders to gather intelligence, influence delivery and promote the aims of DfT and the UK Government.

- Confident and a strong communicator able to represent the Department in meetings with senior partners and stakeholders.

- Strong problem-solving skills; able to help broker solutions.
- Strong organisational skills; able to not only plan but also reassess workloads and discuss priorities if situations change or you face conflicting demands.
- Have an understanding of the bigger picture and sensitivity to local and national politics.

**Additional Information**:
Your place of work will be the Northern Ireland region. You will be required to travel to sites around this region for meetings with partners and stakeholders as required. When not on site you will work from a DfTc office in Belfast (to be determined). Travel expenses will be paid for official business travel.
