**Who we are**

Bean There Coffee Shop is a vibrant independent speciality coffee shop located at the end of the world famous Penny Lane. Having been trading for nearly seven years now we have cemented ourselves as one of the best coffee shops in the area and have a regular customers base with a wide demographic from Students to Retirees, Mum's and babies to laptop workers as well as tourists on the Beatles trail. We are passionate about the quality of the coffee we serve using our La Marzocco Linea PB, Mythos One and Ek43 Grinders as well as pour overs and batch filter coffee. We are also proud to offer to our customers a freshly cooked and beautifully presented range of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes and eat in/takeaway options.

We now operate a second site where we bake all of our cakes, bread and pastries on Rose Lane. Barista’s will be required to work across the two sites.

**What are we looking for**

A talented Team Member with excellent customer service skills, **speciality coffee knowledge** who is able to lead by example. Someone who is enthusiastic and has the ability to motivate and engage the team and bring fun to the workplace while ensuring the highest levels of efficiency are maintained.

You should also have a passion for food and able to work in hand with our Chefs to promote and sell our food offering.

As part of the team your duties will require you to help to maintain the bar counter and shop to high standard of cleanliness, help with the washing up and serve/prepare food when required.

Necessary personal skills for the role are: Consistency, Reliability, Tidiness, high standard of cleanliness, positive attitude, detail focused.

Need to be familiar with professional skills like clean as you go, put away ingredients as you prepare and FIFO.

With close ties to our main coffee supplier, Atkinsons of Lancaster, expect a close relationship with good quality speciality coffee and a chance to extend your coffee knowledge.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Welcoming customers and informing them of our food and drink options
- Upselling specials and products
- Preparing a range of drinks to our specification
- Ensure staff members under your supervision are working to company standards
- Opening shift duties including dialling-in coffee grinder, display set-up,
- Closing duties: Cashing up, cleaning, Stock rotation and control
- Working evening events and outside events when required

**Desired Requirements**
- Knowledgeable about speciality coffee with experience of dialing-in, brew ratios and extraction and milk texturising and latte art.
- Have excellent communication skills with both colleagues and customers
- A Have an excellent standard of quality and customer service.
- Passionate about food and drink with real desire to work and develop in this industry
