**Finance Officer**

**Main purpose**

Contributing to the effective running of the Trust’s finance directorate and supporting the achievement of the Trust’s strategic objectives.

**Duties and responsibilities**

**Finance**

Accurately undertake all day-to-day financial processes, in accordance with the Trust’s standard operating procedures and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements and guidance.
- Day-to-day responsibility for allocated Academy finance mailbox ensuring supplier correspondence is actioned and filed accordingly;
- Input all purchase orders, goods received notes, invoices including direct debits and supplier credit notes into Trust’s finance system, with accurate coding within supplier payment terms;
- Monitor orders and delivery notes to ensure outstanding items are chased and invoices received for processing prior to month end;
- Create new vendor records within the finance system and liaise with colleagues regarding updating existing suppliers, specific care taken to ensure accurate bank account details;
- Input sales ledger invoices and monitor statements chasing for overdue debts (community lettings and local authority income);
- Ensure all income collected is processed and recorded on the Trust’s finance systems;
- File, retain and maintain financial records for internal and external audits;
- To prepare BACS payment runs and send electronic remittance advices;
- Monitor bank account transactions, ensuring all debits and credits have supporting documentation and are input within the Trust’s finance system with associated accounting codes;
- Provide support with year-end audit financial tasks including collating financial data;
- Undertake financial processing transactions where necessary - payroll salary journal processing, recording and reconciling credit card transactions, month end control account allocating and reporting, journal inputting etc.
- Support with financial administration across the Trust, working with the Trust Finance Officer to ensure that the Trust is meeting its obligations to employees and external partners, including liaison with internal and external auditors.

**Administration**
- Provide administration support to the Central Finance Team and ad hoc support to School Business Managers;
- Answer the phone and handle queries appropriately. Communicate with staff from trust schools, suppliers, and visitors in a welcoming manner.
- Provide admin support for internal or external meetings as required for central and school-based activities.
- Provide general cover for colleagues as required when office is busy or during absence.
- Ensure GDPR regulations are adhered to at all times.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 15 months

**Salary**: £25,979.00-£27,803.00 per year
