Our Energy Consulting Services team is geared towards, providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy network, thermal generation, renewable generation, and storage solutions. We are looking for an experienced Renewable Energy Engineering Professional (Solar, BESS and hybrid energy), who is passionate about Energy Transition. You would join our UK Energy Consulting Services team, based at one of our Germany, UK or Ireland offices. These include (inter alia): London, Dublin, Berlin, Cork, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham, Belfast, Edinburgh.

Our fast-growing Energy Consulting Services team is part of our global network of c.1,200 Energy and Power professionals who work collaboratively to help our clients address the challenges and take forward the opportunities in the Energy Transition.

We provide strategic investment and development services and work with leading international energy companies (power generation, energy networks, oil and gas, transmission & distribution), large energy consumers (IT, Aviation, Transport, Industrial & Manufacturing), and government/ public sector.

**Primary responsibilities**

You would work collaboratively with the renewable energy and wider energy consulting services teams in the UK and globally to provide technical leadership on solar and hybrid energy projects. You would work with Jacobs’ energy, large energy user and public sector clients. We are currently looking to hire a Principal Consultant for Renewable Energy Engineering (Solar, BESS and hybrid energy).

**Typical tasks would include**:

- Project scoping
- Concept designs
- Energy yield assessments
- Feasibility studies
- Technical specifications
- Technical due diligence
- Owner’s engineering (pre and post financial close)
- Project management (primarily of OE services)
- Visiting sites across UK during the development, construction and operational phases as part of our service delivery
- Manage entire consulting projects or significant workstreams within a larger project
- Manage project resources and progress against the project plan
- Support business development activities and proposal preparation to win work
- Develop and nurture renewable and low carbon power generation skills within Jacobs
- Build strong long-lasting relationships (with clients and internally)
- Actively engage in Jacobs’ global communities of practice (COP) of relevance to renewable and low carbon power generation technologies and the wider Energy Transition
- Extend skills and experience through working on a wide range of Energy Transition projects (e.g. hydrogen, power-to-x, CCUS and Net Zero hubs) as and when required

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Degree and/or postgraduate qualification in engineering or a relevant field of study.
- 5-10 years’ experience working on renewable energy/ similar projects in the energy or consulting sectors
- A passion for the energy transition, and a growth/ problem-solver mindset
- Strength in presenting recommendations and conclusions to clients and stakeholders
- Good social and networking skills
- Ability to prepare effective and well written reports and proposals
- Client management experience
- Capacity to work within teams to solve problems and achieve a high level of assurance on project deliverables
- An understanding of what it takes to win and deliver work well
