RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a monor house in Lechlade-on-Thames, Gloucestershire who are looking to recruit a Catering Assistant.
**BACKGROUND**:
The Manor is open from the beginning of April until the end of October, attracting over 21,000 visitors in 2019. The site - which includes the manor house, gardens, tearoom, shop, and barn - is overseen by a team of staff, supported by seasonal staff and over100 volunteers. The open season programme includes regular public open days, group visit days, occasional workshops, and other events. The Manor is owned and managed by the Society of Antiquaries of London, a registered charity.
The licensed tearoom is situated in the stable barn, at the heart of the site. This attractive space can accommodate forty people, with additional seating on the popular tea lawn. On public open days (Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), the tearoom is openall day, serving coffees, lunches, and afternoon teas. The tearoom also provides lunch for approximately 30 volunteers and staff who are on duty for open days. Service on group booking days (Wednesdays) is pre-booked by the groups (coffees, lunch and/or teas).The restaurant has a well-equipped kitchen.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
They require friendly, energetic, and hard-working people to join its tearoom staff team. The post-holders will assist in preparing the restaurant for service, food preparation, serving customers and clearing tables - always providing a fast, efficient, andfriendly service and maintaining the highest standards in the preparation of food and the maintenance of the kitchen and equipment. Some lifting is involved.
These are part-time posts, and the hours coincide with the Manor’s open season, April to end of October.
**THE ROLE**:

- Maintain a safe, efficient, and friendly service of the highest standard to all visitors.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Comply with the Manor’s financial and security procedures for cash, stock, equipment, restaurant/kitchen premises and offices.
- Assist in the cleaning and preparation of the restaurant for service.
- Assist with the preparation and service of food and drinks.
- Share operation of an electronic till (with integrated touch screen and card machine).
- Clear tables, wipe down worktops, tables and counter, empty bins, etc.
- Use the dishwasher and wash up.
- Assist with (i) the preparation of the kitchen and restaurant in the lead up to the open season and (ii) the stock take and ‘putting to bed’ of these areas at the end of the season.
- Undertake any training which may be identified (incl. induction, food safety, use of catering and till equipment, evacuation).
- Share a duty of care on site for all colleagues and visitors.
