Specialist Support Assistant

**Position**: Learning Support Assistant **Location**: Wandsworth **Start Date**: Immediate **Pay**: £80 - £110 depending on experience
**About The Role**
A Secondary school in the heart of Putney, SW London, to support a student in Year 7 who has Cerebral Palsy.
The support will include attending to personal care needs (such as support with feeding and toileting and some medical procedures), supporting in classroom curriculum focused and physiotherapy activities and the use of an alternative communication device such as dragon.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
- Communicate effectively with the student, parents, and other staff members - Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to this student who require additional support
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe learning environment
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of tutoring techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with working with students with Cerebral Palsy or other special needs is a plus
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
