**Technical Support Engineer (Plymouth Naval Base & Southwest England)**
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Technical Engineer to assist our operations at Plymouth Naval Base (Babcock), (This will be for approx. 50% of your time). RVT Group provide Babcock with specialist support in their health and safety processes around the areas of temporary LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) on the ships, and various other activities. You will be required to ensure all operational activities are carried out in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner; support the management of 3rd party suppliers; supervise LEV and other engineering installations on ships and across the Base.

When not at Plymouth Naval Base, you will be required to 1) assist the RVT General Installs team assisting in installations (including but not limited to temporary ventilation, heating, environmental monitoring etc) across South West England, 2) assist in our warehouse unit with general operations tasks, 3) support our operations at Hinkley Point and 4) there will also be a requirement from time to time to assist on larger projects (around the country) which would need you to stay away from home for short periods. A company van will be provided for work use only. Training will be provided.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Assist on installations works across the full RVT product range
Supervise a small team of engineers
Carry out site surveys on all types of ships (written).
Attend pre-install project meetings.
Customer liaison role
Maintain best practice health and safety across operations.
Reviewing RAMS.
Write up/manage LEV reports.
Generating reports for management as required.
Admin tasks as directed
Warehouse Duties, i.e. basic electrical/mechanical repairs/PAT testing etc

**Requirements**:
3 years (min) technical engineering experience
Navy or shipyard experience desirable
Good understanding of current health & safety regulations
Knowledge of Occupational Hygiene Hazards and Controls desirable
Knowledge of temporary ventilation systems beneficial.
Electrical Qualification beneficial
Good electrical/mechanical knowledge
Good IT skills and communication skills (verbal & written)
Good interpersonal skills
Clear DBS check, essential.
Full Driving Licence essential
Commitment to learning (i.e. BOHS P600/P601 modules, SSSTS)

Location: Plymouth, (within 45 mins commuter distance)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time, 07:30 - 16:30

**Salary**: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
