Oldham, United Kingdom Oldham Council Full time

**St George's C of E Primary School, East Crompton**

***
- Start Date: 1 May 2024**Salary**: Teachers’ Pay Scale + TLR2a
- St George’s is a small, welcoming, happy primary school in East Crompton, Oldham, where every child is known and cherished. We are extremely proud to be part of The Cranmer Education Trust, a family of primary and secondary schools who are committed to nurturing and educating our children to become the best they can be and are meant to be. We have worked hard to develop an exciting, engaging and inclusive curriculum which meets individual needs in a caring and supportive environment. We are a church school and in partnership with the parish of St James and St Saviours, we bring our children up in Christian values, which means that everyone is equal, everyone is welcome, and everyone is special.
- In recent years, the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher have led on provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs. However, as the number of children with both diagnosed and undiagnosed SEN has increased, in common with most schools, the trust has agreed that this is the right time to appoint a dedicated SENDCo to develop and run our SEND base and lead on provision for all SEN pupils. Our SENDCo will not have a class, but they will have a class teaching commitment equivalent to 2.5 days per week. We anticipate that our SENDCo will work directly with children with high needs in the mornings to enable them to progress, particularly in reading, writing, maths and emotional regulation. In the afternoon the children will re-join their classes, with teaching assistant support, as appropriate. Our SENDCo will lead, manage and develop our Teaching Assistant team.
- Our SENDCo will be supported by school leadership and also by the trust’s SENDCo network, which ensures that everyone is kept up to date, strategies are shared, and there is the mutual support of colleagues in our shared family.
- Working for St George’s means that you would be part of the Cranmer Education Trust, a successful, growing Trust which prides itself on looking after its people, offering a high level of support and access to expertise. This is an excellent time to join the team, as we develop collaborative structures and systems to enhance and support our growing family of schools.- We offer:
- Opportunities for professional development in a growing Trust
- A supportive team who will work with and alongside you to achieve the very best
- Teachers career average pension scheme with a generous employer contribution
- Convenient location for motorway (Junction 22, M62), bus and tram networks
