Azure DevOps Engineer in Central Government (Terraform/Ansible)
We are currently working to onboard an Azure Dev Ops Engineer to work within a multi-disciplinary delivery team in central government.
The role will involve deployment and maintenance of required resources on to Azure using Terraform and Ansible, in line with design documentation, to support software packages required by the client's new healthcare platform.
Must have experience writing Terraform scripts and deploying Infrastructure and coding
MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR SC CLEARANCE OR SC CLEARED
Implement modern IaaS/PaaS infrastructure, monitoring and supporting services in the cloud using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tooling (Terraform / Ansible) to enable consistent, reproducible, and version-controlled deployments.
Development of in-house scripts and tooling for automation and streamlining of support and operations tasks. Support and troubleshoot infrastructure, service and configuration incidents including Operating Systems, Network and supporting services (e.g., ActiveDirectory, DNS, IIS).
Identify opportunities for, and contribute to, service improvement through CI/CD, automation and development of in-house tools.
Feed into the Agile team any technical knowledge or experience that could assist in the hosting of new software or creation of test systems within the cloud.
Previous experience and skillset:

- Required - Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Azure Platform technologies, services and principles
- Required - In depth knowledge and experience in developing and deploying infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Required - In depth knowledge and experience with Configuration Management tooling (Ansible).
- Required - Experience developing, migrating and integrating customer workloads into Azure.
- Experience of Windows and Linux server administration.
- Desirable - Experience with CI/CD Pipelines and automation (Azure DevOps preferable).
- Desirable - Experience with one or more programming/scripting language and development best practices such as Version Control.
- Desirable - Experience in Hybrid Cloud / Multi Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, On Premise).
- Desirable - Experience with containerisation principles and frameworks (Kubernetes).
- Desirable - One or more of the following certifications: -- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
- Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
- Required - Able to talk about previous projects where Cloud deployments/migrations have been completed and any lessons learnt from that.
- Required - Ability to work in an Agile way as part of an Agile team.
- Required - Ability to identify key project stakeholders and contacts and work closely with them where necessary.
