When you join Hertfordshire County Council, you will have a fantastic opportunity to directly influence a front-line service for residents. Our reuse centres sell items that would otherwise have been thrown away at the recycling centres.

Challenges and Opportunities:
You’ll get involved with testing electrical items for sale and logging details (full training given). Cleaning items, attractively displaying them for sale and taking accurate payment for them. You will need to be fit as you will be moving stock from collection points into the shop. It will involve working at weekends and most bank holidays as the shops are open then.

Technical Skills:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic team player with an ability to use their own initiative, get on with tasks and actively help to improve the service.

You will be able to communicate clearly and politely with customers and members of the team. Be able to manage money and able to use a computer or be willing to learn.

You may be required to drive between shops (mileage can be claimed for) in your own vehicle to provide assistance at them and provide cover as required.
