**Location: Agile - Bedlington and home working**

**Hours: part-time - 25 hours and 10 minutes per week so salary listed below will be paid pro-rata**

**Salary: Band 6 - £25,707 - £27,690 pro rata (Increasing to £25,920 - £27,918 pro rata from September 2023 following a transitional pay award period)**

**The role**:
Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service safeguards and promotes the welfare of children involved in family court proceedings. It works with children and their families, making sure the children’s voices are heard.

CAFCASS advises family courts to ensure any decisions they make are in the best interest of the children involved.

**What will I be doing?**

The majority of the role involves the interrogation of local and national systems and records to gather information in relation to an individual or individuals concerned and then further process the information to determine whether a disclosure is appropriate,including a full rationale of your decision. You’ll be a proficient user of IT systems.

The ability to present information in a clear report format is a requirement of this post as is the ability to work in a structured manner to deadlines within Service Level Agreements.

Liaison with external partner agencies and operational officers are fundamental aspects of this role and the ability to form, maintain and develop good working relationships is critical.

The disclosure process is governed by the Data Protection Act and as the role involves access to sensitive personal data, sharing information appropriately and maintaining confidentiality at all times is of paramount importance.

NB: Please be aware that you will regularly access police reports, intelligence and photographic material of a disturbing nature.

- Proven office experience

- Ability to multi-task and prioritise work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident when working alone

Vetting Level - Recruitment Vetting (RV)

Applicants must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be successfully performed. A job offer will be dependent upon vetting clearance, medical information and references.
