**About the role**

This role will support the NATO Submarine Rescue System (NSRS) and will be based at HMNB Clyde, Faslane. The NSRS Submarine Rescue Vehicle (SRV) Deputy Supervisor plays a key role in the delivery of operational capability of NSRS in the rescue readiness and operation of the NSRS Rescue System. Supporting the SRV Supervisor, the Deputy Supervisor will be responsible for the material state of the SRV, including maintenance. The Deputy Supervisor will support the mobilisation and conduct operations of the SRV at sea.

The SRV Deputy Supervisor’s responsibilities will extend to different periods of a Rescue Systems lifecycle. The following defines the key responsibilities:

- Managing the completion of the planned/scheduled and corrective/unscheduled corrective maintenance in accordance with approved documentation
- Ensuring that the physical assets match to the design documentation
- Reporting obsolescence issues and risks
- Raising any defects to the ISS Engineering team through Engineering Queries
- Maintenance of and if required, development of new, Job Information Cards (JIC)
- Declaring any DRACAS incidents to the ILS Engineer
- Responsible for mobilisation and operation of the Rescue System, training and maintain competence in the deployment and operation of assets in accordance with operating procedures
- Conduct or assist the pre and post dive checks and system replenishment
- Conduct or assist in the safe and efficient operation of the SRV in accordance with the standard and Emergency Operating Procedures.
- To act as the nominated chamber supervisor within the SRV
- Take responsibility for progressing with training as invited by the business and defined within the issued Individual Training Plan (ITP).
- Be available for call-out and deployment for JFD’s Rescue Systems in the event of a DISSUB accident in accordance with Call-Out Procedures.

The operational responsibilities will include, but not limited to; Mobilisation and Demobilisation of Rescue Systems to a Vessel, Rescue Chamber Operations, involving the mating with training targets, and the dry transfer of personnel from a live submarine, as well as discharge of all operating procedures involved in safely piloting the submersible from surface to target (or submarine), and back to surface.

**What do you need?**
- Manager/ Supervisor in either diving, ROV or manned Submersibles
- Have an understanding of the maintenance and operation of one of more of the following;
- Manned submersibles
- Hyperbaric / diving equipment
- Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV)
- Offshore handling (launch and recovery) systems
- Managing Safety (IOSH) or equivalent
- First Aid/ Diving at work First Aid
- Personal Safety Courses
- Working from Height
- Confined Space (desirable)
- Chamber Operator Course (desirable)
- Appropriate Medical Certificate for designated working environment (typically Eng 1, STCW 95, or Diving Medical)
- An ability to use the full range of Microsoft Office programmes

**Experience**
- Experienced in underwater operations and is current, competent and relevant in their training.
- Experience of legal statutory instruments and certification for offshore and inshore subsea operations.
- Familiarity with Quality systems (ISO 9001)
- Experience of maintenance of Diving, ROV or Submersible systems
- Experience of working in commercial underwater operations or military submarine operations (desirable)
- Full clean driving Licence
- Security Clearance or ability to gain Security Clearance (as required by service).
