Active member of the project team, working with the project engineer to control and co-ordinate all activities taking place within the defined Vessel EOC CDM site in a safe and efficient manner.

The CDM Supervisor works at the front face, assisting with the control and monitoring of the site work to be carried out during shutdowns, and assures safe implementation of all activities in conjunction with EOC teams.

The jobholder (CDM Supervisor) will be familiar with industrial shutdowns and hold previous experience in a shutdown environment.

The jobholder will have experience of man-management and monitoring of the safe execution of work.

The jobholder will have a proven ability of being self-motivated and a good communicator at all levels with previous experience of record keeping and report writing.

**Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities**:
The duties of the CDM Supervisor include, but are not limited to:
Management of work - Issuing Authority Duties

1. Assess work pack content to verify all necessary documentation is included for
the prescribed task.

Log performing authority presence into the Major Incident Plan (MIP)
- Management of Work system (MOW)

2. Monitor & Audit Lock off Box & Danger Board Compliance

Actively contribute to Personal Danger Board Compliance by assuring lock off
boards are used when necessary.

Monitor Lock Off compliance and reports as requested.

3 Completion of Shift reports and/or Activity Logs

Compile key shift information to report to Project Engineer as requested.
(Interim / Verbal)

Record key information in written report format for end of shift handovers.

4 Out of Hours Permit Issue

Validate and confirms necessary controls are in place in line with specific risk
assessments & documentation prior to tasks commencing (Eg. ‘Red’ Hot Work
Permit).

5 Site Access Control & Boundary Demarcation

Position and monitors CDM Site demarcation barriers. Liaises with third party
contractors with positioning of bespoke barrier systems.

Control all access into & out of the CDM area.

Report any segregation / demarcation difficulties or concerns.

6 Assist with establishment of Site Safe Working Facilities (Local barriers etc.)

Installation of local demarcation barriers (Bunting Tape, Chains, Herras Fencing,
Crowd Barriers, etc.)

7 Crane Control lighting (Red Lights / Amber Lights)

Control all work party presence within the defined CDM site.

Liaise with Manufacturing Operations (production teams) & CDM Performing
Authorities (workforce) to effectively control movement of overhead cranes
through defined CDM site.

8 General Site Auditing & Task Specific Auditing

Carry out Site Observations, Tool box talks and Safety conversations within the
assigned CDM area.

Participate in and Contributes to Scheduled Project Audits.

Review that engineering activities are carried out in a safe manner, and comply
with work pack documentation.

9 EOC Lock and board maintenance

Maintain and clean EOC locks & Boards

Report damaged or malfunctioning EOC locks or boards.

All the above will be reportd to the Project Engineer primarily and the Job Owners.

**Précis of Main Responsibilities**

Safety

The CDM Supervisor (CDMS) monitors those undertaking work to assure compliance with work pack documentation. The CDMS will ensure that personal lock off boards are in use, when stipulated as a required control in the work pack. The CDMS will ensure that personnel are sufficiently briefed by Job Owners on the task and work pack contents, and when required, instructed to lock off onto the relevant lock off box prior to work starting.
The CDMS will review work pack contents to ensure that no work is started until all necessary documentation (risk assessments, specific work permits, safe work procedures etc.) are completed and included. The CDMS must also ensure that any permits are completed prior to work starting.
Site activity should be monitored by the CDMS to ensure compliance to prescribed work pack documentation.

Communication & People Focus

The CDMS must demonstrate positive engagement and rapport with all personnel undertaking activity within the defined CDM site.
The CDMS should ensure sufficient task briefings are undertaken between Job Owners and Performing Authorities (work parties) to allow work to be completed safely. Clear communications are key to ensure that all those undertaking work, and those affected by it, clearly understand what is required and what is happening within the designated CDM area.
The CDMS plays a key role in the communication chain. The CDMS is empowered to commend good workplace practice but to also challenge and correct any non-compliant activity in accordance with the work pack.

**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 14-16 weeks
