We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated person who enjoys working as part of a team. This is an opportunity to join the Waterlooville Community Care Team as a Patient Support Administrator. You must have excellent communication and IT skills commensurate with this role.

The position is based at Wellington Gate, Waterlooville but travel may be required to cover other sites. The role is part time for 32 hours a week and the needs of the service would require the successful applicant to cover these hours over 5 days, Monday-Friday including 8.30am to 5pm Wednesdays and Fridays.

You will be responsible for day to day administration tasks such as managing referrals, booking appointments, making and receiving telephone calls, ordering supplies and all other administrative duties as required by the service

We are looking for someone who likes to be busy; works well in a team and is able to communicate well with staff and members of the public. You will be an effective and experience administrator, comfortable with using your own initiative.

As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a customer focused approach. Previous experience of working within an NHS environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

**Main duties of the job**

To provide comprehensive administrative support for the Integrated Care Teams (ICT).

The post holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day administration and booking of the clinics working in collaboration with the clinical and non-clinical team members.

To provide an excellent customer service experience for all patients at all times.

To record community nurse attendance and take messages for all staff groups.

To update the RiO system in accordance with standard operating procedures.

To provide cross site cover to support the needs of the service.

**Job responsibilities**

To process patient referrals competently and make appointments

To deal professionally and promptly with phone calls, direct callers accordingly or take messages and contact clinical staff as required.

To undertake clerical duties for the service such as filing, scanning, or photocopying as required

To order stationery and stock as directed.

To book transport for patients when required.

To lift, move and load/unload boxes containing medical stock and equipment

Travel to other sites if required.

Communication with Social Services, Relatives, Patients, Physiotherapist/OT's/GP's, Consultants, other Clinical Professionals, Local Hospitals, other Trusts, Suppliers. Often receiving and talking about confidential/ sensitive information.

Special requirements: Daily phone contact with patients of a great age range. Some who may be hard of hearing, demented, confused, or have difficulty with English. Also, distraught clients (deceased families) angry clients. Dealing with terminally ill patients and families by telephone, so will need to show empathy, have confidence to impart correct information. The ability for firmness and efficiency are also extremely important.

Maintain confidential medical information and manager's correspondence within the Caldicott guidelines.
