General Warehouse Operative

Established in 2005 AxBoard Ltd is one of Ireland's leading suppliers of kitchen and fitted bedroom furniture. Working with some of the latest technology available in our industry, our highly skilled and flexible team design and produce bespoke, custom-made solutions for clients throughout the island of Ireland.
At our 40,000 sq.ft manufacturing facility in Newry, we craft our products using high quality materials and components, serving both end user and trade customers.
Through our trade counter, we also supply a vast range of individual components and a board-cutting service, offering a one-stop-shop for the specialist kitchen trade.
Due to the continued growth in our business, we are now looking to recruit an experienced person for the position of Warehouse Operative.
**Job Purpose**:
To work as a member of our warehouse team, involving a wide range of duties in order to effectively control our goods inwards/outwards.
We need an ambitious and hardworking individual who can work an entire shift on his or her feet. We prize speed and accuracy above all else, so we require a Warehouse Operative who can pay careful attention on the job, follow instructions precisely and double-check his or her work before completing a task.
**Job Duties**:
- Goods receiving, including checking delivered quantities/quality against purchase orders and entering on computer system
- Liaison with suppliers as necessary to report any shortages/damages of goods received
- Physical locating of stock
- Handling pick-ticket orders
- Allocation of warehouse/stock items based on number, size, colour and quantity requirements
- Ensures that orders are accurate
- Prepares items correctly for delivery
- Operates handling equipment and ensures safety regulations are followed
- Plans and monitors product storage and despatch
- Monitors stock control systems and processes specific orders
- Ensures warehouse goals are met
- Maintains a high level of health and safety standards
- Packs warehouse orders as necessary
- Performs other general warehouse duties as needed

Previous experience working in a warehouse is essential and preferably in the kitchen/furniture manufacturing industry; Keen attention to detail; Ability to lift heavy objects; Positive attitude; Self-motivated; Active; Safety conscious; Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment; Good communication skills; Ability to work well on a team but be self-motivated; Fork-lift truck driving experience; Computer literate; Fork lift truck experience an advantage. Must be fluent in English and be in possession of permission to work in Northern Ireland.
Pay dependant on relevant experience.
**Salary**: £9.18-£10.50 per hour
