**The Opportunity**

As a result of successful company growth we are looking for an **Mechanical Estimator** to join our work winning team based from our Blackburn Head Office.

Our work winning team interact with all departments within Vital Energi and are responsible for delivering outstanding bid submissions to successfully win projects for the delivery of Net Zero innovative energy solutions across all business sectors.

Projects you could be involved in range from selecting energy reduction measures for an existing building to a multi-MW solar farm or a city-wide heat network utilising low carbon heat pumps. **The Role**

Reporting to the Proposals Manager you will be responsible for:

- Analysis of drawings, specifications and tender proposals to prepare and maintain cost estimates for review and tender submission
- Maintaining estimates and cost plans
- Coordinating inter-departmental input with Design, Commercial, and, Engineering teams for tender review and sign off
- Liaising with the Proposals Manager to provide advice on commercial influences and associated risks
- Sourcing and review of quotations using contacts from within the supply chain
- Identifying value engineering solutions to ensure bids remain competitive and profitable
- Engaging with potential clients and supply chain to build relationships

**The Person**

**Skills/Experience**
- A relevant qualification in a mechanical discipline
- Demonstrable experience within a building services environment
- A good working understanding of technical drawings
- Experience of mechanical installation processes with an interest in emerging methods and technologies
- Whole build project life cycle experience

- Strong attention to detail
- Numerically competent and accurate

- Flexible approach to managing workload with the ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work on a diverse portfolio of projects
- Working knowledge of estimating software packages such as Trimble etc
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Full UK driving licence
