Green Apple Catering is a local caterer providing in house canteen and cafe services to a number of local businesses. Alongside this Green Apple also run a successful buffet and event service, providing business buffets and event-based catering for anniversary parties, weddings, funerals, etc.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a passion and flair for catering to work at our new site in the Imperial Park area, providing a cafe/restaurant service to the workforce. The site comes equipped with a brand new kitchen and excellent work environment. Its an exciting role for an individual to come in and make their own.

The role is hands on working in the kitchen delivering high quality affordable food and beverage service. Additional duties will include customer interaction, stock ordering, receiving and processing customer orders and the use of the company POS system.

The role is for 20-25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working hours will be split between the team of 3 during the hours of 6am - 3pm. We are looking for two individuals to work a 4 or 5 hour shift per day. Holiday cover will be required on occasion and weekend and evening work is available at one of our other sites but is not required. The role comes with an attractive benefits package including pro rata 29 holidays per year, company pension scheme and free meals during the working day.

**Main duties**:
¨ Preparing both hot and cold meals/buffets

¨ Stock checking and ordering

¨ General cleaning

¨ Barista service

¨ Washing up

¨ Clearing down of surfaces and appliances and other associated tasks as required

¨ Liaising with customers and processing orders using the POS system

¨ Assisting at events either serving and plating food or as a server. Overtime may be available for events in the evenings and at weekends.

**Personal skills and attributes**:
¨ Catering qualification or equivalent with a food hygiene certificate preferred but not essential as full training will be given

¨ Have a passion for catering and professional service

¨ Good customer service skills

¨ Good communication skills

¨ Reliable, punctual and professional attitude

¨ Happy to use own initiative

¨ Previous catering experience preferred

¨ Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of the role

Occasional overtime at our other kitchens in Newport and Cwmbran is available
