**Brief Description**:
This is a 6 month opportunity with the potential to become permanent.

The Southern Region Property Services Team portfolio includes UK’s busiest railway Station (Waterloo). We are currently providing advice to support works at Waterloo for capacity, retail and development works. Other work includes land acquisitions, disposals and providing professional property advice across Southern England to internal clients on major national and regional infrastructure projects.

You will be working in a highly professional and flexible environment. This role will offer you the opportunity to work on a diverse range of work and develop your knowledge of surveying.

It will be challenging. But you will be able to develop and hone your skills within a small but supportive team working on some of the busiest parts of Britain’s railway.

The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to a team of Chartered Surveyors working on the Wessex Route.

This role will also allow you to develop your practical knowledge and understanding of general practice surveying and work towards Chartered status (should you want to). The type of work will include helping with:
Land acquisitions & disposals
- Negotiation of leases/easements/restrictive covenants
- Negotiation of permanent & temporary rights of way
- Landlord & Tenant matters
- Compensation claims
- CPO & TWAO work

**About the role (External)**:
Key Accountabilities
- Provide technical support to the team of Chartered Surveyors
- Contribute to the delivery a range of Property Services including acquisitions & disposals; leases and other Landlord/Tenant matters
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues to enable efficient and effective delivery of our client remit.
- Support the development and implementation of a safe working environment.

Essential
- Property related academic qualification
- Excellent organisational skills
- Positive and proactive team player
- Good communication and influencing skills
- Good negotiation skills
- Proven experience of managing time and priorities

Desirable
- Work experience of property industry
- An understanding of the rail industry
- Full Driving Licence
- Experience of stakeholder management

**Salary**: £27,000 - £30,700 per annum / pro rata, plus an Inner London Allowance of £3,270This is a 6-month fixed term opportunity and has the potential to become permanent.
