We are looking for a trainee Health & Safety advisor to join our busy Newhaven office.

As Trainee Health & Safety advisor you main purpose is to provide safety advise to the various departments of Lanes Infrastructure. We need someone who is bold and independent and able to identify errors without support. Full training would be given.

**Responsibilities**:

- Championing HSE cultures, behaviours and expectations, both internally and throughout the wider supply chain.
- Provision of support to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager and to the Business Systems & Compliance Manager in the development of company procedures and processes, which are compliant to relevant legislation and contractual obligations.
- The delivery of the company induction, covering the basic requirements for compliance with management system requirements.
- Ensuring the implementation of adequate (engineering) controls to areas of risk and supporting company personnel to adhere to these requirements at all times.
- The undertaking of HSE investigations following incidents, accidents or near misses and the subsequent communications of findings to relevant personnel.
- The undertaking of regular performance monitoring for health, safety and environmental compliance within their area or contracted task; following a strict inspection and audit regime and communicating the findings to the Health & Safety Manager and wider organisation as required.
- The provision of ongoing HSE support to the wider organisation, including the identification of localised risks, which may impact the company’s ability to adhere to the requirements of the SMS.
