A day in the life of

As Kitchen Porter, you will be a crucial part of the kitchen team, delivering excellent service to guests each day. Teamwork is everything You will work closely with your team mates to ensure that together each service is smooth and efficient. You are engaged, move with purpose, and serve with enthusiasm, understand performance indicators and work hard to positively influence these whilst on shift.

Your duties and responsiblities may include:

- **Washing Dishes and Utensils**: Ensure that all kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils are cleaned, sanitised, and ready for use. Restocking and replenishing all crockery to their designated areas
- **Inventory Support**: Assist the kitchen managment team in organising food storage and tracking inventory levels.
- **Receiving Deliveries**: Receive and unpack deliveries, ensuring proper placement of food and supplies.
- **General Cleaning**: Sweep, mop floors, change garbage liners, and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness. Maintain cleanliness by sanitising kitchen counters, stovetops, and food preparation areas.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Ensure cooking equipment (ovens, refrigerators, mixers) is in working order, reporting any faults to the Head Chef.
- **Basic Food Preparation**: Assist chefs by washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients.

Based in the Holiday Inn Dumfries Hotel, you will be part of a team of passionate people who know that being the best doesn’t always mean working around the clock.

To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience and living through our brand standards. Previous experience in a hospitality environment would be beneficial.
