To provide support to the Phlebotomy manager, Matron and the phlebotomy team members. The post-holder will support patient care across the Trust by carrying out phlebotomy duties and provide supervisory day to day support.

The role requires performing phlebotomy in various areas such as inpatients, outpatients, antenatal clinic and two external mental health providers. The phlebotomy service is a Monday - Sunday service and the post holder will be be part of a 7 day service rota.

The post-holder will undertake other phlebotomy registered practitioner to effect timely investigations and treatments for adult patients. The post-holder will be expected to assist in identifying and responding positively to the changing demands of the service.

The will work regularly without direct supervision, but with guidance from the phlebotomy manager where required. The post holder may also be required to supervise and train less experienced staff.

Applications are invited for Phlebotomists to join our busy Phlebotomy team based at Walsall Manor Hospital. The main duties will be to collect blood samples and provide supervisory support to the phlebotomy team including delegating work and ensuring the health and wellbeing of the team. Applicant must be reliable, flexible, a team player and be able to work effectively under pressure with excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language.

To provide comprehensive phlebotomy support to the Phlebotomy manager, and their phlebotomy team members.

The post-holder will support patient care across the Trust by carrying out phlebotomy duties in inpatient, outpatient, antenatal clinic and two external sites.

The phlebotomy department provide a Monday to Sunday service and the post holder will be expected to work within a rota that covers a 7-day service.

The supervisor will participate in training and signing off competencies as well providing clinical day to day support to all the team members. Advise the Phlebotomy manager on levels of competency and further training requirements.
