**Short Distance Transport Planner (Nights)**

**Rochdale**

**£30,000-£36,000 per annum**

**Sunday - Thursday 22.30-07.30 (40 hrs per week)**

Our well established, international client are currently seeking a Short Distance Transport Planner to join their thriving business on a night shift due to continued company growth.

**Duties Include**:

- Plan delivery and collection routes for next day
- Communicate with our partner regarding repair and maintenance schedule for the fleet
- Focus on cost efficiency in terms of planning without compromising on quality
- Driver briefing prior to their departure
- Management of agency cover resource in conjunction with daytime team
- Responsibility on shift for the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) as well as other data which presents itself during the shift
- Manage and allocate collections for SD Drivers and ensure they are put in the right tour/relation
- Administration for all consignments ensuring accurate coding
- Management of SD driver and vehicle schedules and arrivals
- Short Distance despatch and support
- 2nd Tour planning processing
- Driver and Vehicle Audits to be carried out
- Driver Handheld Training/ Audits
- Creation of tours, management of relations and collection dispo
- Managing and supporting Warehouse/ Short Distance Planning team with fleet discrepancies, load planning and any additional issues that may arise
- Managing and supporting warehouse with Euro Inbound arrivals to incorporate all administration duties via Domino during the shift.
- Communication to sending branches, correspondents and internal contacts for late arrivals.
- Correct administration and monitoring of Inbound operation and use of various Dachser Tools (including but not limited to Domino, Active Report, Vehicle Localisation, Collection Dispo, SDP, Geocoding)
- Meeting the designated department KPI’s
- Management of agency cover resource in conjunction with daytime team
- Effective communication with other departments in Rochdale and the UK as well as other branches in the Network ensuring good working relations, and ensuring agreed service levels are met.
- Ensure that all reporting procedures are complied with and that all paperwork is accurate and efficiently handled including but not limited to POD’s, CUIF’s loading and unloading paperwork.
- Effective communication using the appropriate handovers and verbal dialect with the day shift team and all involved.
- 3 years experience in UK road operations
- Experience of working with Drivers
- Experience of working independently
- Excellent communication skills - with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Influence and impact people across all levels in the Organisation
- Ability to listen to others and understand the situation from their perspective
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience of planning multi-drop vehicles
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Skilled in adapting their style and language to suit the customer, department or level that they are dealing with
- A high customer service orientation with an understanding of what good looks like and a passion for delivering quality
- Highly adaptable
- Ability to deal with customer problems efficiently and professionally
- Ability to take responsibility to resolve issues
- Ability to build close professional relationships with customers without getting personally involved
- Ability to work on own initiative and adapt working day around the issues that need to be involved
- Excellent skills IT skills adapted to Planning
- Excellent IT skills and data manipulation skills to provide quality reporting for customers
- Experience of working in the logistics sector or complementary business

**Working Hours**:
Sunday - Thursday 22.30-07.30 (40 hrs per week)

**Salary**
- £30,000-£36,000 per annum, depending on experience
