Veterinary Receptionist

It is a fantastic time to be joining Animal Trust as we continue to expand our services. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Client Services Team at Shrewsbury. Working alongside a dedicated nursing team, you will deliver excellent customer service and provide a friendly, professional face for the company. Our surgeries are fast-paced and we pride ourselves on efficiency.

To be successful in this role you’ll have previous experience of working in a customer-facing environment, have excellent communication skills, a passion for animals and the ability to build on the strong teamwork already in place.

Common Duties Include
- Welcoming clients and their pets for appointments and maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude at all times
- Answering telephone calls/queries from clients
- Handling medication prepared by the veterinary surgeon and handing to clients
- Working within a team (and at times alone) to ensure the surgery’s reception, waiting area and consultation rooms are maintained to a high standard of clinical cleanliness
- Dealing with stressed or upset clients and connecting them to the appropriate teams where required
- Taking payments, registering new clients and addressing client concerns
- Organisation and restocking of the practice where required
- Complying with all health and safety procedures
- Complying with data protection legislation to ensure client and patient confidentiality is maintained at all times

- Pleasant manner, compassionate towards clients and pets
- Strong communicator and able to confidently communicate with clients and staff of all levels (Vet Nurses, Vets and Directors)
- IT Literature and a fast learner
- Takes direction and can work from own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of a client/customer-facing role in a fast-paced environment essential
- Willing to work unsociable hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Job particulars
- This role is working weekend shifts and holiday and sickness cover on a regular basis
- Operational hours are 8 am - 18.30 pm & 13.30 pm - Midnight 7 days a week
- £9.90/hour
- 20 hours per week
