**Position**: Senior Credit Controller (Team Leader)
**Location**: Glasgow

**Job Type**: Full time, 12 Month FTC, Monday to Friday
**Salary**: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum, DOE

**Purpose of the role**:
Ensure that all debts are paid in a timely manner in order to meet the debtor days target set out by the company.

Effectively dealing with customer account queries, complaints, including liaising with other departments to ensure that they are brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

**Job Scope**:
Working relationships:
The Senior Credit Controller is required to communicate with all customers in the UK and Ireland. The Senior Credit Controller will also have to communicate effectively with managers and colleagues in other departments.

Levels of influence:
The Senior Credit Controller is required to influence customers and colleagues in other departments within the boundaries agreed with his/her manager.

Decision Making Authority:
Assess risks and make decisions on granting credit.

Liaise with Credit Manager to agree payment plans for customers with cash flow problems.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure customers pay within the agreed payment terms.
- Reviewing orders on hold, customer a/c queries and complaints in a courteous manner.
- Ensuring monthly statements, first letters and final demands are printed, checked, and sent out within the agreed timescale.
- Setting accounts up for direct debit and running the direct debits monthly on the dates set by management.
- Passing accounts for Legal Action.
- Assisting with the month end reports.

**Key Performance Indicators**:

- Meet cash and debtor day target set by the company.
- Month end debtor days report.
- Assist in reducing customer issues.

**Person Specification**

**Education / Qualifications / Training**:

- Educated to Scottish Higher Level / equivalent.

**Experience**:
**Essential**
- Demonstrable experience within a Credit Control Environment.
- Experience of high-volume collections.
- Experience of monitoring bad debts.
- Experience in dealing with clients who have gone bankrupt.
- Experience of credit information and debt collection agencies is desirable.
- Experience within a similar industry desirable but not essential.

**Skills / Knowledge**:
**Essential**:

- Excellent communications skills at all levels both written and verbal.
- Good keyboard skills and competence of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- High standard of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to recognise potential risks to the firm that should be escalated.
- A proven track record in achieving credit control collection targets.
- Good listening skills.
- Knowledge of credit law.
- Knowledge of Sage.
