**16-17.5hrs per week at £10.42 per hour (pay increase pending)**

**Weekend working (every second weekend)**

Dundee Survival Group is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified, either professionally or through experience Cook.

You will be hardworking, quick at learning, innovative, punctual, able to work as part of a team or alone, willing to work weekday and weekend shifts, have good communication skills.

Duties would include food prep and cooking to a high standard, stock control & rotation, ordering and keeping the kitchen clean to a very high standard.

**Purpose of Position**

To prepare and cook a balanced meal that is nutritious within a controlled hygienic environment for around 14 residents,

To control systems of food allocation to minimise wastage.

To keep a true and accurate record of daily menus, orders and temperatures in the kitchen.
- Principal Responsibilities
- To control stocks and purchases, thereby allocating the quantities of ingredients.
- To keep the purchase of ingredients within allocated budgets.
- To maintain a balanced diet and varied menus.
- To be aware of the residents needs and dietary preferences and to maintain a record.
- To maintain the kitchen equipment, as specified by respective manufacturers.
- To ensure that the kitchen is cleaned in line with an agreed standard, schedule and maintained to a hygienic state.
- To ensure the standards are maintained to a level that meets food hygiene inspection.
- To carry out a review of the menus a minimum of 2 times per year with the manager.
- To build positive and caring relationships with residents. Treat everyone with dignity, respect, compassion to help develop a welcoming environment.
- To ensure adequate supply of crockery, utensils, linen, cleaning materials and other necessary items.
- To maintain the allergens recipe cards for all menu dishes.
- To maintain and display pictorial menus daily for the residents.
- To attend and participate in the staff meetings.
- To attend all training that is provided to meet the requirements of your job role.
- To follow the requirements of the safeguarding of vulnerable adults, and the whistleblowing policy.
- To comply with the companies health and safety procedures.
- To comply with the Care Quality Commission fundamental standards.
- To read the companies staff handbook with in the first 6 weeks of employment.
- Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and therefore you may be asked to carry out any reasonable task that may be assigned to the post.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 17.5 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
