- JOB DESCRIPTION - CASUAL STAGE TECHNICIAN
- JOB TITTLE: CASUAL STAGE TECHNICIAN
- RESPONSIBLE TO: STAGE MANAGER
- MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

- The Stage Technician as a member of a multi disciplined team will be required to undertake maintenance and operation of the sound and lighting equipment for shows and rehearsals as required together with any other duties associated with the smooth operation of the stage in particular and the Theatre in general.
- KEY RESULT AREAS:

- 1) Set up, focus and operate lighting equipment for live performances.
- 2) Clean and maintain all stage lighting equipment.
- 3) Clean and re-lamp all light fittings in the building.
- 4) Set up lighting cues on lighting board.
- 5) Install microphones and speakers as required
- 6) Operate sound system for live performances and set up sound levels to Artists satisfaction
- 7) Clean and maintain sound system
- 8) In the absence of the Stage Manager or Deputy deal with queries re staging and maintenance
- 9) Carry out building maintenance work as required
- 10) Act as Duty Manager as required by the Theatre Manager.
- 11) Carry out other non-specific duties as require from time to time by the Theatre Management.
- POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

- 1) Be capable of setting up and operating sound equipment for live performances
- 2) Be capable of setting up, focusing and operating lighting equipment
- 3) Experience of fitting up and running shows would be advantageous
- 4) Experience of counterweight flying systems would be advantageous
- 5) Have a working knowledge of HASAW and Public Entertainment Licence.
- 6) Carpentry and plumbing skills would be advantageous
