**Teaching Assistant Sensory Support for Visually Impaired Pupils**:
Job description

**Contract Type**: Permanent

**Hours**: Full Time 37 hours per week

**Workstyle **:You will be an agile hybrid worker

We are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our Visual Impairment team within the Support for Learning Service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant, who is passionate about helping schools and supporting pupils with Visual Impairment.

The main duties of the post;
- To work under the guidance of the QTVIs.
- To provide support in the needs of pupils with a visual impairment.
- To act as a driver between schools/venues for the staff member with VI.
- To act as a support worker for a member of staff with VI.
- To implement agreed work programmes with individual/groups of pupils to help overcome barriers to learning.

You will have experience of;
Working within a school environment.

Working with pupils with Visual Impairment

A thorough knowledge and understanding of learners Visual Impairment

Experience of securing best possible outcomes for pupils with ALN.

Ideally you will have

NVQ Level 4 or equivalent

Specialist training in supporting Children and Young People with Visual Impairment or a willingness to carry out relevant training.
