Bakery Operative

Role and Responsibilities
- To load up the ovens and bake products ready for the mornings orders to be picked.
- Picking of orders by customer and organizing into each delivery route ready for the drivers to take out on the morning runs.
- Typical working hours will be 5.00am
- 11am Monday - Friday.
- Compliance with workplace Health and Safety at all times including safe lifting when putting away ingredients and loading up ovens.
- Assemble orders for dispatch to customers or product batches for storage. Checking for quality, completeness and ensuring proper labelling.
- Ensuring company standards of health and safety and personal hygiene at all times. Cleaning before and after each production operation and at the end of each shift.
- Ensuring own and workplace safety at all times, including safe lifting, care to not contaminate or cross-contaminate products.
- Using proper stock rotation and highlighting any potential stock shortages or stock issues to the appropriate manager.
- To work with the production team to make products to company standard. This will include but is not limited to pies, pasties, scotch eggs and sausage rolls.
- To complete the compulsory Food Hygiene training promptly (this will be company funded) and keep skills and knowledge current
- Work cooperatively in teams as directed, be punctual and clean at all times
- Comply with all legal and company instructions with respect to Health and Safety in the workplace; Health and Hygiene (Environmental Health); Human Resources and such other relevant policies

Qualifications and Education Requirements

A driving license is not essential but would be preferred.

Preferred Skills

Physically fit to work and capable of lifting finished product, boxes and trays of pie and sausage.

Additional Notes
Hours will be 5:00am to 11:00am Monday - Friday to be worked with occasional additional holiday cover. Additional hours will be available over the Christmas period. There may be scope for these hours to increase as the job progresses. We also pay overtime at 1.5 times for every hour worked over 40 hours and there is often opportunity for this during busy times.

Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: £6.83-£9.50 per hour
