**Year 1 Teacher Roles & Requirements**
- Plan and teach engaging lessons in line with the Year 1 National Curriculum
- Teach phonics using the schools chosen programme
- Promote the schools resilience, effort, and spirit
- Use assessment methods to gain knowledge and fill gaps in learning
- Be actively involved in the wider life of school, running clubs and attending events
- Uphold all school policies including Behaviour and Safeguarding
- Invest in children's personal, social and emotional wellbeing
- Collaborate with the other Year 1 Teacher to ensure continuity between classes
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and 1:1 Support to promote good outcomes for students

**Early Years Teacher essential requirements**:

- Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent)
- Experience teaching in the primary age range
- Legal Right to Work in the UK
- References covering most recent teaching experience
- Full employment history including education and any gaps explained
