We are looking for **several** Setters/Operators/Millers/Turners on a permanent basis to support the growth plans in Gloucester. A variety of positions available, you should have experience of CNC machine operating & have exposure working on variousmaterials as well as working to close production & quality targets.
Our client manufacture composite &fibre reinforced plastics, board, sheeting, & components. Their advance materials are used across the world & multiple industries, including F1, Defence, Medical, Aviation & Space.

Responsibilities
- Ensure any activities you carry out are done with H&S criteria at the forefront.
- Meet production & quality criteria on a daily basis.
- Ensure documentation is completed fully & accurately.
- Carry out quality checks on products & record the information accurately.
- Make suggestions on how to improve the processes in relation to production quality or manufacturing time.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping standards in any area you operate.

**Manual Turner**

Skilled conventional turner required to work on a variety of production machinery. While the role is primarily to set & run centre lathes, experience on turret & bed mills is also highly desirable.

Duties/Role
- Knowledge of machining composite materials (desirable). Turners should be confident in turning parts ranging from 5mm in diameter up to 1800mm in diameter.
- Machinists must be confident in their abilities to calculate angles, radii etc to meet customer drawing features. Likewise, the ability to design & where necessary make tooling to aid in the machining of specific features will be highly advantageous.
- Majority of items to be machined will be washers, flanged bushes, plain bushes, grooved bearings, & split bearings. Experience of eccentric turning & trepanning is also required.
- The machines to be used range from small lathes such as a Holroyd groover & Colchester student lathe to mid-range lathes such as Broadbent Stanley 3m long bed lathe & Colchester Mastiff lathe. Various vertical borers will also be used so experience on thosewill be beneficial.

Experience/Competencies
- A formally qualified apprentice, or apprentice qualified, & time served with experience of working in a production environment.
- Good communication & numeracy skills & can be proactive & flexible.
- Quality & Continuous Improvement awareness.

**CNC Miller**

CNC machining centre setter/operator preferably with good knowledge of Haas controls (not essential). You will be responsible for setting & operating the CNC machining centres & editing programs if required. The production operative will work safely on severalmachines or processes & will be expected to meet set production & quality targets.

Duties/Role
- Setting & Operating CNC machining centres in a fast-paced production environment. Programming is primarily done offline so operators should only need to perform basic editing functions from time to time. You will be responsible for setting & operating machinesbased on standard setting sheets linked to each job & ensuring all parts conform to drawing & instructions.
- Materials will all be machined using extraction or LEV & cannot be cut with coolant.
- Knowledge of setting & operating 4 & 5 axis trunnions will be highly advantageous as will setting & operating CNC routers.

Experience/Competencies
- Operators self-inspect their work with operation First Off's having a secondary inspection performed by a fellow operator before being signed off. Skilled operators will be confident in the use of standard handheld inspection equipment with knowledge ofCMM & Shadowgraph use considered an advantage.

- Quality & Continuous Improvement awareness.

**CNC Lathe Operator**

CNC turning centre programmer/operator with good knowledge of Mazatrol &/or Fanuc controls. The Individual will be responsible for programming, setting, & operating the CNC lathes. The production operative will work safely on several machines or processes& will be expected to meet set production & quality targets on a daily basis.

Duties/Role
- Programming, Setting & Operating CNC lathes in a fast-paced production environment. Programming is done directly on the machines by the operator.
