**About us**
The post lies within the Councils Housing Solutions service and is based at Ty Iolo Hostel in Barry.

Ty Iolo provides temporary accommodation for families and single people who have become homeless and are awaiting permanent housing.

Ty Iolo is staffed 24-hrs, we provide support to 21 families residing at Ty Iolo.

We are a compassionate, empathetic team that work closely with residents residing in temporary accommodation.
**About the role**
To maintain a record of actions taken in relation to all hostel management issues/ incidents and liaise with the Temporary Accommodation Manager to report any incidents.

To book all new residents in to Ty Iolo and complete all necessary records including license agreements, housing benefit forms.

To provide emergency support to residents as an when needed.

To engage with residents and all professional agencies.

Dealing with Out of hours calls.

To participate fully in the Hostel Rota to ensure adequate security and proper management in line with the Councils statuory obligations and adopted policies. This includes the assisting in co-ordination of overnight sleep ins/weekends/evenings/bank holidays.

To remain non-judgmental and empathetic towards peoples situations and needs.

To be able to build a rapport with residents and professional agencies.

To be able to work under pressure at times and remain calm and professional.

To manage and maintain all other hostel duties.
**About you**

You will need:

- Experience of working with vulnerable clients.
- Experience of record keeping and office systems.
- Experience of rota based working.
- Experience of safeguarding adults and children.
- Knowledge of benefits and housing.
- To be flexible and a team player.
- To be non-judgmental and approachable.
- To be able to work on your own initiative.
