Bank Healthcare Assistant

**Job Purpose**: You will form a vital part of the Operating Department and Imaging team, delivering exceptional and compassionate care to patients in The Winchester Clinic. Work within a team of Healthcare Professionals including surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre nurses, operating department practitioners and radiographers to deliver a safe and exceptional experience for patients undergoing day case surgery.Main Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain a patient focused quality approach to all aspects of work. Assist in the care and comfort of the patient at all times. Recognise and report and clinical and non-clinical incidents to a registered practitioner to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Participate in governance activities such as audit and incident reporting. Assist the clinician as requested. This may include interventional procedures and the handling and use of sterile consumables where trained to do so. Help to facilitate the smooth running of operating lists, liaising with the practitioner in charge, patients and clinicians to support their needs.
This may involve moving patients from the operating theatre to the recovery areas employing safe manual handling techniques and equipment. When trained to do so, complete and record patient observations, promptly highlighting any discrepancies to the wider surgical team. Ensure the clinical areas are prepared to the appropriate level of cleanliness at all times, as described in the Infection Control policy. Where required, maintain patient records in accordance with The Winchester Clinics data protection and confidentiality policies.
Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels and order supplies of linen, gowns and consumables. Check all the received orders and distribute stock across sites as required. Assist in the induction and training of new staff. Provide administration support as required Safely utilise equipment to support patients with mobility needs.

The post holder will be required to adhere to effective manual handling techniques due to the requirements to lift and move both equipment and assist patients.
