**Introduction**:
Being a part of meaningful change is a feeling like no other. The care and support you provide as a Recovery Coach helps some of the most vulnerable people to communicate and express themselves as they build a brighter future.

Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join Gateway Recovery Centre and will plan and deliver opportunities and activities that are specifically tailored to the individuals’ personal recovery goals, hopes and aspirations and may be delivered in a group or 1:1 setting.

will work under the supervision of the lead Recovery Coach and line management from the Lead Occupational Therapist.

In this role, you will support individuals to achieve better health and quality of life through facilitating participation and engagement in occupations, the meaningful, necessary and familiar activities of everyday life.

The development plans will be forward thinking and will support individuals to identify strengths, ambitions, skills to shape a motivational and meaningful plan that they can continue with once they have been discharged from hospital.

Activities and interventions will also be custom designed, working in partnership with the individuals to help maintain and enhance their daily living skills and quality of life irrespective of any symptoms they may also experience, with the ultimate aim of the individual being able to be safely discharged from a hospital environment to a place where they can live a personally rewarding and fulfilling life.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- The preparation and maintenance of designated therapeutic environments.
- Liaise with internal/external agencies to develop opportunities for individuals and ensure timely provision of services
- To organise, monitor and ensure an adequate supply of stock/session materials
- To act in a manner at all times that promotes professionalism and demonstrates a positive role model to people
- Undertake general administration tasks as directed
- Under supervision and direction of the clinical team, (this could be RC, Registered Nurse, SLT Registered Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or physiotherapist) provide individual or group activities for identified individuals.
- To consult with the person and team members Occupational regarding the needs of the individual and how these needs could best be met.
- To provide verbal and written feedback of interventions as required within departmental policies and procedures
- To work in a patient-centred, facilitative manner - create, develop and maintain a partnership working environment
- Ability to recognise the importance of a positive therapeutic relationship. Possess the ability to build, develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals

**To be successful in this role, you'll need**:

- GCSE English and Maths A-C (9-5) or equivalent (essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence (clear) (Desirable)
- Experience of providing a range of similar activities and occupations
- Experience of working on own and in a team (Essential)
- Experience of working with people in this patient group
- Knowledge of/interest in Psychological intervention models/ideas
