Chemist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HTI (High Temperature Incinerator) Chemist to work for an established and expanding company at their incineration facility, based in the East Kent area.

Yearly salary in the region of £25,000 for a 40 hour week working for a company that are continually investing in innovative technology and sustainable growth.

You will have a Degree in Chemistry and in return will receive an attractive salary (dependent on experience) with a productivity bonus, contributory pension and generous holiday allowance.

Key duties will include:

- To work alongside site chemists providing administration and analysis support:

- Weekly calibrations of laboratory equipment.
- Analysis of pre-acceptance samples for incoming waste: xrf, pH, oxidising, flash point, calorific value testing.
- Compatibility of liquid waste streams for bulking.
- Repacking of bulk chemicals into smaller pack sizes ready for disposal.
- Obtaining consignment notes for all incoming waste and inputting the data onto our on-site systems ready to be sent to the site admin team for invoicing.
- Arranging the sending of quarterly analysis of reportable samples.
- Printing and creating labels for waste.
- Inputting testing results onto laboratory spreadsheets.
- Will be a self-motivated team player who is passionate about their work with a "can do" attitude.
- Must have a "hands on" approach as the working day will be varied with office, lab and outside work.
- Will have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be enthusiastic and hardworking.
- Must be personable.
