Evening Supervisor, Library

Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and imaginative Evening Supervisor to work in our busy and vibrant Library & Student Services dept which provides support for students and staff on the Epsom campus.

The post supervises and maintains the effective operation of the front facing service and administrative functions that support the efficient operation of the University Library and Gateway Services. As part of the team, the post holder provides information, advice and guidance on finance and welfare issues, facilitates access to wellbeing and counselling and refers students to other specialist services available from Library & Student Services, the wider University and externally.

You should have experience of working and supervising a team in a customer facing environment. Effective interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills are essential. You should be a competent and confident IT user. Knowledge of online information would be an advantage.

We are looking for someone who will take ownership of enquiries and respond effectively under pressure, who demonstrates initiative and flexibility and liaises effectively with staff, students and colleagues. Equally important are the ability to innovate and collaborate as part of a team, use initiative, demonstrate flexibility and display attention to detail. Being prepared to use new skills and undertake staff development as appropriate, especially in the area of new technology are essential.

Hours of work are: Monday-Friday 5pm-8pm Please note the actual salary for this role is: £8,096 - £9,106.
