**Overview**:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Network Field Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
This position will offer opportunities to further develop networking skills to an advanced level and provide excellent career opportunities to the right individual who is looking for a challenging and rewarding position in a fast-growing company.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- You will be responsible for developing technical solutions focussed on the routing and switching technologies in line with technical roadmaps and new customer requirements.
- You will work in a highly technical environment, engaging with members of the engineering and design teams in addition to interactions with network operations teams.
- Maintain and develop product configuration and supporting documentation for use within network design, installation, and operational support teams.
- Complete deep dive lab configuration and stress testing to ensure solutions are scalable and stable ready for customer deployment.
- Maintain and improve existing network solutions in line with vendor hardware and software releases or enhancements.
- Escalate product related problems to equipment manufacturers and coordinate problem resolution in compliance with SLA’s.
- Ownership and handling of complex technical support issues via 3rd level incident management escalations.
- Developing infrastructure and knowledge base documentation to improve team knowledge and troubleshooting processes.
- You will deliver all set targets to contribute to a successful business function in line with the strategic objectives.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a network engineer in the ISP/Telecoms industry.
- Solid understanding of common internet and networking protocols.
- Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols.
- Excellent understanding of SNMP protocol.
- Good knowledge of security protocols and firewalls.
- Working experience on incident management processes and prioritisation.
- Advanced experience with monitoring systems plus a good understanding of monitoring best practices.
- Good understanding of RADIUS protocol.
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi standards and general wireless principles.
- Network infrastructure design abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work as part of a distributed technical team and be self-driven to work effectively in a home environment.
- The desire to learn about new communication technologies and share them with the team.
