**Job title**: Activities Lead

**Hours**:Full time, 40 hours per week

**Salary**: £12.10 per hour

**About us**

Based in Ipswich, we deliver a quality person-centred service to all the people we support. Working with individuals who have learning disabilities, mental health issues and complex needs and behaviours that challenge in a supported living setting.

**The role**

You will be responsible for planning community-based activities for the people we support, to include driving and supporting the person to engage in the activity in a meaningful way. This involves assisting individuals who face barriers which prevent them from fully participating**. **Key responsibilities will include:

- Create an individualised plan that encourages active participation in planned community-based activities.
- Drive the people we support to the destination and support the person to engage in meaningful activities.
- Make plans with the people we support and their support team, to encourage active participation in local activities, venues and groups.
- Encourage opportunities to build a larger network of support.
- Develop further prospects for the people we support to find new and meaningful activities in their community.
- Continually research and update community maps, that optimise chances to access community resources locally.

**About you**

Due to the nature of the job you will be required to hold a valid drivers licence and access to your own vehicle to be used for business purposes.

This role needs someone who cares about making every moment matter for the people we support and be able to use that passion to encourage and support people to gain new experiences. It is essential to:

- Be an advocate on behalf of others
- Experience of leading a shift
- Have strong organisational skills and have had previous experience working with learning disabilities/autism including organising activities and supporting community based activities or within a similar role
- Have experience of teaching and/or training and a professional qualification would be advantageous
