Consultant Haematologist

The Great Western Hospital is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Haematologist to join our team. This is a replacement 10 PA post at the Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Swindon.

We provide a clinical and laboratory haematology service, managing a full range of haematological conditions to BCSH level 2b. There is a dedicated 10 bed haematology ward and haemato-oncology day care facilities. Our autologous transplant programme is JACIE accredited. Allogeneic transplants are managed in conjunction with Oxford University Hospitals. The department is supported by two specialty registrars (Severn Deanery), two ward based GPVTS posts, three speciality doctors, a JACIE Quality Manager, five clinical nurse specialists (one of whom is a full time Transplant Co-ordinator), transfusion and anticoagulant practitioners. In addition, we are about to appoint two advanced clinical practitioners to support the work of the medical team. There is a CPA accredited automated combined blood sciences and transfusion laboratory with electronic tracking of blood components to ensure traceability.
