sportscotland is the national agency for sport in Scotland, helping the people of Scotland get the most from the sporting system. A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead our world-class organisation in our mission to make sure sport plays its part in a thriving Scotland.

We are seeking a leader with authenticity and gravitas to shape our vision for sport in Scotland, overseeing the delivery of our corporate strategy and working closely with our partners to ensure the continued success of Scotland's health and wellbeing agenda. This high-profile position will see you play a key role in boosting the wellbeing, resilience and physical competence of our nation, providing leadership to the sporting sector and promoting sport at every level.

Your strong management and interpersonal skills will empower colleagues to think innovatively and deliver our mission effectively, while your influencing skills will enable you to lead the conversation around sport in Scotland with government and key partners, both proactively and reactively. You will have significant leadership and management experience, gained within a public, private or third sector organisation of comparable scale, and your track record will demonstrate your ability to deliver an organisation's strategic objectives within a complex environment. A strong understanding of the political landscape is essential, as is a knowledge of sport (including the challenges it faces, such as ethical issues, and its broader impact on society).
